I’m thrilled to be able to share Katherine and Caine’s wedding day with you! They had a family-only ceremony on the rooftop of the Seattle Municipal Courthouse (talk about breathe-taking!) followed by an intimate reception with a family-style dinner at the Corson Building.
Your wedding day will forever live in my heart as a beautiful and memorable day. Memories of you being surrounded by your best friends in the world. By the family closest to you. I can see everyone beaming with joy for you both, as you walked around, hand-in-hand, hugging and laughing with everyone you love.
Here’s to your beautiful day, and now your everlasting marriage!
The day was full of amazing details and personal touches that made this celebration one of a kind and a true reflection of their relationship. I remember sitting with them at the end of last summer as they told me about their wedding plans. They wanted it to be intimate. They wanted it to memorable. They wanted to keep things simple.
The day started at The Corson Building for their first look! Catherine waited upstairs in the loft area, as she watched me get Caine ready in the courtyard, before she came down. The moment was so special! They both looked stunning, and they were just smitten!
Katherine and Caine, with only their immediate family, went to the Seattle Courthouse for their intimate ceremony. Everyone could barely contain their excitement as we made our way through the building. Once it was our turn and we made our way to the rooftop – WOW. Seriously, this roof top is gorgeous! It was surreal that the moment had finally arrived, after so many months of planning!
Now we could celebrate! Close friends and family joined Katherine and Caine back at the Corson Building. The family style dinner was the perfect (and delicious) meal to spend time with everyone who love Katherine and Caine. The garden patio felt so secluded from the city and the perfect haven for this party!
Katherine celebrated her Japanese heritage by adorn one-thousand paper cranes around the garden, hung from a series of vintage gates from Vintage Ambiance. These paper cranes are meant to bring good luck and prosperity! Friends of Katherine and Caine helped to hand-folder these tiny paper cranes. It was a true labor of love!
The tradition of the newlywed couple jumping the broom originates in African culture, when marriage was not legally recognized. The broom ceremony represents sweeping away the old and welcoming the new. Katherine and Caine jumping the broom was such a joyous moment – it represented joining their families and honoring those that came before them.
The garden reception was filled with unique touches! The most memorable was during Katherine’s friend’s toast. Molly, Michelle, Kelly and Ashlie gave a beautiful toast, but then surprised everyone with a song for the newlyweds, to the rhythm of Montel Jordan’s “This is How We Do It”.
Thank you to all the vendors!
